Keniny Dance Performance

The Keniny Dance Academy is WMKAC's cultural performance group, created to celebrate, preserve, and share Noongar culture through traditional and contemporary dance, storytelling, and performance.

The Academy brings together dancers of all ages to learn and perform cultural dances that reflect the stories, traditions, and enduring connection of Noongar people to Country. Guided by cultural knowledge, respect, and community values, participants develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of their cultural identity while representing WMKAC at community events and public performances.

Over the years, the Keniny Dance Academy has proudly performed at community celebrations, schools, festivals, official ceremonies, and cultural events across Wardandi Boodja, helping to educate audiences and celebrate the richness of Noongar culture. Each performance is more than entertainment—it is an opportunity to honour our ancestors, share our stories, and strengthen cultural understanding within the wider community.

While the Academy is not currently delivering regular programs, WMKAC remains committed to its future. We recognise the important role cultural performance plays in strengthening identity, empowering young people, and keeping our traditions alive.

As WMKAC continues to grow, we look forward to revitalising the Keniny Dance Academy and once again providing opportunities for our community to learn, perform, and proudly share Noongar culture through dance.
