Elders Advisory Group

Working alongside local Elders supporting them to reach wider audiences with their knowledge as well as connecting with neighbouring Elders

Language

Drawing from our library of Noongar resources we seek to support current language lessons in regular school programs as well as providing lessons for local community and creating packages for local government and businesses
Bardip Warniny
Performing Arts

Working alongside WAAPA trained actor and script writer Alan Little, WMKAC would support professional and community theatre groups to write and perform in the Noongar language

Welcome to Country

Establishing the ‘Elders Welcome to Country Engagement Strategy’ increases local knowledge and pride in the community benefiting Elders and supporting them in widening their teaching circles

Dance

An important part of culture, we seek to teach through one off school visits and regular dance classes with traditional local dancer David Dann. Expanding into a weekly children’s dance group
Doodjoorak
Song

Establishing a Noongar choir benefits both the participants and community. Training to perform at local events with a view to creating an annual concert embracing both traditional and modern forms of song
